Today is the beginning of a new era, at 6pm more precisely.

Millions of humans were heavily conditioned and prepared until today, by talented and unscrupulous marketers. The objective is very simple...provide these guys something worth living for...

This picture was taken a few days ago during a roller trip with a friend of mine. As you may see, it was taken from the “west-side” Geneva. It looks clean and quiet. A few readers may notice a strange lack of color on the picture: trees are naked and you won't find a single flower where it should be.

Today, I turned 29. Many friends and my family already picked up their phone earlier after midnight and I already had my bunch of wazaaaaaaaaa or you're fucked! and so on. Thank you guys if you read this (but I sure hope not yet ;)

Many people begin their thirties the day of their 30th anniversary. Actually, celebrating a 29th year mathematically means that you have entered your 30th year. What sounds a little awkward is that people around won't keep telling you "hey, next year you're 30!" without realizing they're already late.

The question I asked myself today is: shouldn't the 29th birthday be the real big thing instead of the 30th?

Anyway, I am running out of time, the office will soon be waiting for me.

Ps: I've read Gary Larson's Far Side bio. You should give him a try, he inspired me a lot during this year.

Some time ago, I decided I would publish some pictures taken with my mobile phone.

Today is a particularly good occasion to start with this. She surely knows why...

Me and my She, may 11th. Zurich

PS: J'sais.

I just came upon this video while blogging around. I'm not sure whether this would be possible here in Geneva's Starbucks. Not because of the short delay before you'd get thrown out, but simply because they usualy do not provide electric plugs. Fun stuff anyway, I'd be happy seeing such stuff on my Mondays' first hours ; )

I should start praying for people who keep a loud ringing tone in their mobile phone, while in the train.

My prayers would say something like “Please My Lord, give these people ear cancer and make them believe it was caused by their mobile phone.”
Anyway, today is a good day, I feel inspired. 

A friend of mine recently sent me this little teasing text for a Japanese movie. He was right, I shouldn't have read it. Now I don't want to watch it anymore...

I love superhero movies. Don't ask me why, I can't tell why. I can just get obsessed with them when I know one's reaching the theatres. Right now, I'm just impatiently waiting for the Dark Knight. Watching "Batman Begins" is a good medicine to help waiting.

(By the way, the video above is a customised trailed. Its author made a good work!)

Today, I eventually received my IT manager's answer to my recent request of allowing people to access the freenode IRC network.

I needed that access in order to avoid me bringing my laptop day after day and to stay connected with other people also working on software security. I also considered that many interesting software development related channels are available on that network so that my request would not really have reasons to be refused.

I was wrong.

"Rules are rules and you're not above them. Therefore, I am forced to reject your request, which is by the way not professional at all."

Yup, he's right on one point: rules are rules. IRC not being a professional resource is, however, another thing.

As IRC access is prevented for security reasons, I'll then keep in touch through GTalk and MSN Messenger, which are allowed and, I guess, far more professional.

to my readers:
- how do you manage such situations?
